500 families will now have a little extra food this holiday season

On Wednesday, December 7th, over 40 volunteers came together and stuffed and delivered 500 food hampers to 12 different locations. The Cause We Care Foundation Christmas Hamper Drive is now considered the largest hamper drive in the city!  Each hamper weighed approx. 15 lbs and was filled with food, socks, chocolates, lip gloss and a little hope. Not only did they meet the goal of 500 but they exceeded it – collecting donations for 532 hampers along with a generous donation of $5000.  The extra donations received will go into the Emergency Fund and be spent in 2012 to assist families in need at other times during the year when food is scarce.

Winsor Gallery staff were among the 40 volunteers who gave generously of their time and effort on the 7th.
