In an industry where so much is driven by identity and reputation, having an anonymous art show is a novel concept. The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is doing just that in order to showcase work of emerging and established artists, as well as to fundraise for NVCAC's in its many valuable cultural programs. Each artwork is priced at $100

Artwork is sold off the wall from the opening night until Saturday, December 15.

The Anonymous Art Show is a great fundraising eventand group exhibition. It is truly inspiring to see the talent, scope of style, diverse subject matter and mediums, including oil, acrylic, mixed media and photography created by local established and emerging artists. There are hundreds of artworks to choose from by hundreds of artists, so there is something for everyone. All works are created on unframed 8” x 8” x 1 ½” canvas or wood panel. The sale of each piece is divided fifty/fifty between the artist and the NVCAC and the artist remains anonymous until after the purchase.

To be able to purchase a valuable piece of artwork for such a low price always creates a buzz on opening night, so it’s a good idea to get here early. Appreciators enjoy wine, punch and hors d’oeuvres and browse the exhibition excited to purchase a piece by a well-known artist whose style they recognize, or to discover a new favourite.

This inclusive event is fun for artists and purchasers, and it assists the NVCAC in funding many valuable programmes, including free community events, art classes and youth programmes. It also enables the community to support emerging artists and provides an opportunity to purchase an established artist’s work at a great price. It’s a wonderful and unique opportunity to purchase original art in time for Christmas!
