This week's portrait Monday is brought to you by Jersey City artist Keun Young Park, and Winsor Gallery's Alex M. F. Quicho.

Keun Young Park's intensely detailed collages of solitary figures move beyond the obvious theme of fragmentation into a realm of silence and melancholia. The dissolving bodies that Park portrays are laid out in a state of quiet reflection or peaceful repose in some instances, and in stilled grief in others. Paradoxically, their minutely exploded state adds a sense of permanence to these otherwise fleeting poses.
