Having got his start in illustration (featured everywhere from Prada to ESPN to DC Comics covers), James Jean has since skyrocketed to international fame with his ever-adventurous paintings of mystical creatures and pretty girls. We particularly like how, in spite of soft, delicate rendering, his portraits retain a sheen of cartoon pop, made all the more evident with his incorporation of abstracted elements.
