THOMAS WOOD - THE BOOK OF SAND

Here at Winsor Gallery we are always excited when our artists have work published. So we are very pleased to announce one our artists', Thomas Wood's, etchings published in "The Book of Sand", a beautiful short story written by Jorge Luis Borges.

The book is a short story, originally published in Spanish in 1975. Borges, the author, was born in 1899 and began publishing his work (mainly essays and poetry) in surrealistic literary journals in the early 1920s. He was the director of the National Library of Argentina and soon after his resignation, he wrote this story of a retired librarian.

This new edition was made in the form of an artists' book and Thomas was commissioned to make the etchings for the limited bilingual edition. The book is a beautiful piece of art and the etchings function as a personal, delicate illustration of the meaning of the book.

There are only 30 copies available, of which 24 are actually for sale. So act fast and contact the people at Nawakum Press for your own copy!
