ECUAD AWARD WINNER CLEA LAUTREY

Clea Lautrey, MOBIEL, 2013

Clea Lautrey is a recipient of this year's John C. Kerr Chancellor’s Award for Design. 

Her passion for local food and sustainable practices combined in her MOBIEL, which is designed to "support the day-to-day needs of commercial urban farmers in Vancouver". 

The purpose of this project was to create a transportable tool cart, as after interviewing local urban farmers, Laudrey discovered "that one of these key challenges involves accessibility and transport of tools that are appropriate for space, time, labour and seasonal constraints". This prototype interweaves the needs of urban farmers with the visual narrative of urban farming.
