Chris Jordan's latest film, Midway: A Message from the Gyre, "is a powerful visual journey into the heart of an astonishingly symbolic environmental tragedy." Over the course of several years, a team of film-makers led by Jordan has returned again and again to an island in the centre of the Pacific where albatrosses feed and nest. Bearing witness to the direct repercussions of one of our most recent and most persistent environmental catastrophes, Jordan and his team have observed and documented the alarmingly quick decline of these creatures, whose lives on one of the most remote islands on Earth are threatened by the Pacific Garbage Gyre.
