Born to Korean parents and raised in Osaka, Japan, Rimi Yang now lives and works in Santa Monica, California. Using a method of automatic painting, she paints from a very instinctual and emotional place, reaching within her soul for guided inspiration.  Her paintings, saturated in oil and cold wax medium, are expressive and energetic, while her most recent resin works are both intimate and raw.  Yang makes use of color, light and form to create visually stimulating works, inviting the viewer to feel and experience the paintings.
